PartyGaming recently reached a settlement with the US government, paying the hundreds of millions of dollars to avoid prosecution for any illegal online casino activities. The law concerning online gambling in America is unclear at best, but this payment allowed the company to move on not fear any reprisal.

They have not wasted time in adding to their already large business. They recently orchestrated the purchase of Cascade, a young online casino company with a growing reputation. From 2007 to 2008 Cascade saw their revenues double, attracting the attention of many industry high-fliers. Eventually a deal was struck with PartyGaming to buy the company for $157 million.

This means that the online casino company now have ownership of Bingo Scotland, Think Bingo, and Foxy Bingo – making them a much stronger presence in the world of online bingo. They have also added to their online casino portfolio, with Getminted and Foxy Flutter both contained within the deal.

Party Gaming boss Jim Ryan said that "Our longer-term strategic objective is to become the market-leader in online poker, casino, sports and bingo." This purchase certainly seems to confirm that PartyGaming are an online casino to be reckoned with.
